The Brazoria Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) provides fire protection and emergency rescue services to the City of Brazoria and surrounding communities in southern Brazoria County.
History
The department was established in 1947 and has provided emergency response to a growing community. Today our fire department services a population more than 3,000 in the City of Brazoria and an additional 13,000 in the surrounding area of Brazoria County.
BVFD is responsible for staffing two fire stations and providing emergency services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

There are 21 volunteers that staff this department with financial support provided by:
- City of Brazoria
- Brazoria County
- Emergency Services District No. 2
- Private donations.
Become a Volunteer
The BVFD is currently seeking individuals who want to help others by giving back to the community. We want those that have a desire to learn and who are interested in becoming Volunteer Firefighters. All qualified candidates will receive training and be supplied with protective gear. Members of Brazoria Fire Department meet on Thursday at 7PM, Interested volunteers are encouraged to drop by fire station one and meet BVFD Members.
